Solo Developer Journey & App Experiments

Hi, I'm Clive. After seven years as a Software Development Manager building enterprise systems, I left in mid 2025 to answer a question: can I build sustainable products independently, doing what I enjoy, without venture capital or investor expectations? This website records my journey from employee to independent builder as I ship apps and explore the answer. Follow along as I journal all the success and the failures.

Blog & Dev Log

January was my strongest month since going independent, but it came with bot attacks, a Reddit shadowban, AI-generated spam, and a stomach bug. The stats tell an encouraging story despite the chaos. Here's what happened and what the numbers actually look like.

Two weeks into marketing month and revenue has already tripled. Kanodo is finally approved, Chronode got its first sale, and someone in Hong Kong tried tampering with a few of my app-support websites. Plus Exoden updates and lessons on type hinting, geo blocking, and how Livewire's built-in protections saved me.
